In this day and age, when are you not running around like your head is cut off. Between appointments, deadlines, and events, when do you have time to unwind, destress, and just simply relax? Not all of us can spend the whole weekend up in the mountains at a very excluded spa… though that would be amazing. Sometimes all we have is ten to twenty minutes. So how are you going to destress in that amount of time… how about a bath?
Baths are easy, can last as long as you like, enjoyed with a cup of tea or your favorite glass of wine… No judgment!
What do you need for the perfect bath? Well, that is really up to you… but these are a few of my bath tube must-haves:
Dead Sea Salt
Dead sea salt is the perfect ingredients for when you are feeling cramping, soreness, stiffness, or pain. When you combine sea salt with Epsom salt, you will create a detoxifying bath.
Epsom Salt
Epsom salt has been used to help treat aches, pains, soothe muscles and even reduce some swelling. I suggest adding two cups of Epsom salt to your warm bathtub water. You can also easily add it to showers and a foot soak.
Himalayan Salt
This kind of salt has been shown to help clean our skin and your body energetically. When this salt is added to baths, it can help soothe sore muscles and stimulate circulation.
Coconut Oil
Coconut is my secret weapon to keeping my eczema under control. I use coconut oil in my baths to help moisturize and eliminate toxins that can be camping out on my skin. Coconut contains powerful nutrients like vitamin E, K, and Iron, which can help reduce itchy and inflamed eczema. I suggest adding in ¼ cup of coconut oil into your next bath.
Red Rose Petals
Roses can be used for more than showing someone you love them or that you are sorry because you forgot your anniversary. They can also brighten your complexion, tighten pores, and enhance your mood.
Essential Oils
When I combine the salts with essential oils, and I close my eyes, I feel like at an all-day spa. This can definitely bring your bath to the next level of relaxation and help hydrate your skin.
- Add in the oils after your water is done filling up the tub.
- You will want to add essential oils with a carrier like coconut, olive, sunflower, or grapefruit oils.
- My favorite oils to use are lavender, chamomile and rose
